PoI Big Bang Artists, it's your turn to get started!

- Read through the summaries, choose one fic to make art for, and reply to this post with the number next to the summary.

- Summaries are first come, first served. Check the comments before you reply.

- Writers, keep an eye on this post too! When your fic is claimed, find out how to send your current draft to your artist and how you want to communicate with them for the rest of the Bang. You can check the signup posts or message them on Dreamwidth. If you need to leave your email in the comments, delete it asap so the spam bots hopefully don't get it.

- Artists, the draft you receive will be incomplete, so be kind to squishy writer brains as you get this glimpse into their process.

- If you're interested in claiming a summary but not already signed up as an artist, please sign up first.

- We currently have ten unclaimed writers and eight artists, so unless we get two more artists signing up, there will be a second round of claims. One fic per artist for the first round. (If you're pre-matched, you can claim one fic in this round.)

- Put October 2nd in your calendar, that's when you and your collab partner will choose a date in November to post your completed fic/art.

- If you decide to drop out, drop me an email at poi(dot)fanworks(at)gmail(dot)com or message me on Dreamwidth.

Summaries

1)
Title:Empathy at 30,000 feet
Relationships:pas Shaw/Root
Characters:Shaw, Bear, The Machine
Rating: (use AO3 system)M
Summary: (100 words or less) Machine Intelligences aren't human. They exist beyond human comprehension. Root saw it as a God. Admin saw it as a threat. Shaw of all of them sees it clearest. It's like the old story of creatures hidden above the 30,000 ft limit. Leviathans that killed the first few people who used technology to breach the heavens. Not malicious, simply life on a different scale.
Warnings:horror elements; previous character death; non human morality; light suicidal ideation due to mind control;
Art Wishlist: (what media you're open to, hoping for, any ideas)No real preference

2)
Title: Dues

Relationships: Finch/Fusco, Fusco/Simmons (noncon/dubcon)

Characters: Finch, Fusco, Reese, Simmons

Rating: Explicit

Summary: Simmons and Fusco have a nasty history and Simmons wants to remind Fusco that his ass belongs to HR, in various senses. Finch learns about this and is appalled and outraged and also just a tiny bit turned on. Protective!Finch, Mortified-and-Bitter!Fusco, Oblivious!Reese, and Sadist!Simmons may all feature. Finch can't decide if he wants to sic Reese on Simmons or take Fusco away from it all or what.

Warnings: Some strong non-con/dub-con elements, some casual drug/abuse references, HR are not nice people, and also sometimes boners happen even when you don't want them to. Canon-typical violence, etc.

Art Wishlist: (what media you're open to, hoping for, any ideas)
There is a scene with Fusco getting slapped that I'd be tickled if someone wanted to portray (and that scene is fully written at this point); there's also a lot of awkward Finch and Fusco conversations that could be fun to see illustrated or represented. I am happy to also let an artist look through the story as I get bits written and decide if there's a part that speaks to them. I am not picky about medium, traditional illustrations are lovely but I also love seeing the creativity of this fandom in other formats as well. <3

3)
Title: Aranei Iratorum (working title, subject to change)

Fandoms: POI/SGA

Relationships: Gen (John Sheppard & John Reese, Harold Finch & Radek Zelenka, friendships among Team Sheppard and Team Machine; background Sheyla, Careese if you squint)

Characters: John Reese, Harold Finch, Joss Carter, Lionel Fusco, Bill Szymanski, Phil Terney, Anthony Marconi, phone cameo by Carl Elias, brief appearance by Mark Snow and Tyrell Evans, various HR members; John Sheppard, Teyla Emmagen, Ronon Dex, Rodney McKay, Radek Zelenka, Samantha Carter, Malcolm Barrett, Paul Davis, various SGC/Homeworld Command personnel, Wraith OCs

Rating: (use AO3 system) T

Summary: (<100 words) When the Machine gives its team the number of John Reese's old friend John Sheppard, neither man knows what a tangled web they're about to walk into. The Trust has brought a Wraith from Nevada to New York--but even they may not be as fully in control of the situation as they think.

Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply; canon-typical violence for both canons (includes non-graphic depictions of Wraith feeding), Wraith illusions, mental health concerns (Joss sees some things she's not prepared for and has a moment of not being sure what's real until Reese rescues her)

Art Wishlist: (what media you're open to, hoping for, any ideas)
- Media: Any. These canons lend themselves as easily to manips as to drawings, so whatever the artist desires! I'm open to vids and podfic as well.
- Ideas: The two Johns together, Reese in Atlantis BDUs, Finch and Zelenka working together, Reese and Finch in the SGC briefing room with Sheppard and Sam Carter, Joss Carter in a Wraith web, Machine POV of a Wraith with a threat box around its face... all kinds of possibilities, frankly. If including a Wraith, it might be fun to use the Wraith from "Vegas" that was played by the same actor who played Rick Dillinger.

4)
Title: a new place to be from (working title)
Relationships: Finch/Reese; background Root/Shaw, Carter/Beecher, several pairings between former numbers, past Harold/Grace, past John/Jessica
Characters: Harold Finch, John Reese, Bear, Lionel Fusco, Joss Carter, Root, Sameen Shaw, Carl Elias, Anthony Marconi, Hersh, Leon Tao, and a bunch of former numbers
Rating: Explicit, maybe?
Summary: In a galaxy run by Samaritan, a group of misfits finds sanctuary on a desolate, icy mining planet.

One of them, lifelong rebel Harold Finch, might have built the key to humanity's salvation: a competing ASI remarkable enough to make Samaritan's most devout acolyte grab the man and the code she was assigned to destroy and run.

Then, another former operative targeted for elimination shows up with a gut wound and a dog. Can John Reese get the residents of Manhattan 314—especially the most fascinating man he's ever met—to trust him? Or will Samaritan wipe them out first?

Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply; additional warnings for mentions of general dystopian shenanigans (torture, "correction," violence, the usual), an ableist ASI, internalized ableism, attempted murder, murder, references to past suicide and past mistreatment of a pregnant woman, drug use, alien mpreg in the background (oh Leon *heavy sigh*)...and there might be some minor character death and some large-scale OC death coming (the POI mains live; it's too soon to tell about the other characters)

Art Wishlist: I'm a big fan of drawings, both traditional and digital, but! There's a bunch of Machine POV in this, including MPOV flashbacks, snippets of fake newspaper and magazine articles, snippets of fake police reports, snippets of fake academic articles, other things like that, so some snazzy graphics along those lines would also be really really cool.

5)
Title: Two Men, One Direction
Relationships: John Reese/Harold Finch
Rating: Adult
Summary: Hired to bleed for Finch's causes, John knows how to lead an investigation and throw a fist. What he doesn't know is how to blend in to a society that he left years earlier to serve his country. Finch struggles to understand his new employ and help him with whatever he needs. An unlikely partnership leading to something more, but the road is going to be a bumpy one!
Warnings: Canon-typical violence
Art Wishlist: I enjoy all the art formats except chibi

6)
Title: In the Smiling Water
Relationships: Lionel Fusco/Harold Finch, past Harold Finch/John Reese (maybe Fusco/Finch/lake monster!Reese?? Not sure how it's going to unfold, but no monster fucking)
Characters: Fusco, Finch, lake monster!John
Rating: no more than Mature (mostly for gore than for sexy times)
Summary:
I could have been a city cop, like my dad, like his dad, and so on. Probably would have been, if my dad hadn't picked up and moved the family to Vermont. Still could have, I guess. Dad still had those connections, but I didn't like the light in his eyes when he talked about his old cop friends.

So I'm the first Fusco who isn't a cop. I'm the first Fusco who's a lakeside mailman. And the thing the locals never tell you is that there's some weird stuff living in those lakes.

Warnings: monster movie level gore
Art Wishlist: I'm good with anything except for podfic. A movie poster is always fun?
The tone of the fic is a little bleak (Harold is grieving for John who he thinks is lost to his monster side) building to a happy ending (John isn't as lost as he thinks) so there's lots of potential for misty lake scenery and moping Harold, or cheerful and robust mailman!Fusco delivering mail to Harold's sad island home.

7)
Title: Lionel's Angel

Relationships: Lionel Fusco & Karolína Kurková (evolving from her attacking Fusco with pepper spray to kissing him goodbye and telling him to call her)

Characters: Lionel Fusco, Karolína Kurková, Harold Finch--only via phone

Rating: (use AO3 system) General Audiences

Summary: (100 words or less) I have gone in a completely different direction than I first proposed. My plan now is to flesh out the story of Lionel saving Karolína Kurková from the Armenians, on his own, because Finch and Carter are totally focused on Reese, imprisoned at Rikers Island.

Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply

Art Wishlist: (what media you're open to, hoping for, any ideas) I'm open to anything. Obviously, there are several scenes in "Prisoner's Dilemma" that could be used as a starting point.

8)
Title: No More Secrets, No More Lies

Relationships: Nathan Ingram/Harold Finch

Characters: Nathan Ingram, Harold Finch, John Reese, Sameen Shaw

Rating: Teen and up

Summary: Nathan Ingram may have fallen out with his best friend but at least he has IFT and, with the help of Reese and Shaw, a clandestine side business saving the irrelevant numbers. Alarmingly, all that becomes threatened the day The Machine gives them Harold’s number. Can Nathan protect a man who isn’t speaking to him? Can he keep Reese and Shaw from learning the past? And can he do all this without Harold learning the secret of the irrelevant protocol and shutting it down?

An AU in which Nathan lives, thrives, and juggles an awful lot of lies.

Warnings: Canon typical violence. Non-consensual drugging. Immediate Aftermath of 911. Aftermath of terrorist attack and injuries.

Art Wishlist: Grateful for anything really. Title pages are always nice. (what media you're open to, hoping for, any ideas)

9)
Title: Absolution
Relationships: John Reese/Harold Finch, background Root / Sameen Shaw
Characters: John Reese, Harold Finch, Root, Sameen Shaw, Original Male Characters
Rating: (use AO3 system) Mature
Summary: (100 words or less) John Reese falls, gunned down in a basement. He doesn’t die but he lands in a hell he cannot comprehend or escape. A man in hiding catches an injured trespasser in his land. He isn’t making sense but there are answers buried underneath the madness. In his grief, Harold Finch cannot shake a bad feeling, a persistent hunch and he has to fight alone to be vindicated.
An alternate take on if/then/else and the end of POI.
Warnings: Graphic violence, torture, non-con medical experimentation, non-con drug use, medical procedures, psychological abuse, attempted suicide, mouth trauma, selective mutism, animal death, domestic violence, religious themes.
Art Wishlist: (what media you're open to, hoping for, any ideas) Not picky on media, I like seeing other people’s interpretations of my work with little input from me.
I got a couple of OMCs and a MacGuffin if you feel inclined. There’s (or at least I tried to add) running themes through the story if you’d like to run with them as well.
Scenes and cover illustrations welcome but if you like anything else, go for it.

10)
Title: The Recovery of Reflection Job

Relationships: Harold Finch/John Reese (sort of), Steve McGarrett/Danny Williams, Chin Ho Kelly/Malia Waincroft, past Harold Finch/Nathan Ingram

Characters: John Reese, Harold Finch, Jocelyn Carter, Lionel Fusco, The Machine, Steve McGarrett, Danny Williams, Chin Ho Kelly, Kono Kalakaua, Will Ingram, Harper Rose, Trey Wender, Matthew Williams, Jimmy Cannon, Dominic Besson, Floyd

Rating: M

Summary: January 2012. Reese and Finch must protect a grifter after her plan to steal cash from a regent dispensary fails. Steve loses the Champ Box, Matthew gets sentenced, Chin sees Malia again, Will returns to New York to speak with his Uncle Harold and Carter finally gets a sit down but the month isn’t even over yet.

Warnings: Canon typical violence, sexual content, gang turf wars, witchcraft

Art Wishlist: any media. if something could be done with Reese as the shadow, Eliot as the sun and Steve as the sea that'd be great but, obviously, do whatever inspires you.
